Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy, "cookies" refers to both cookies and similar technologies.
Who is the controller?
The controller of the personal data processed through this website is Keksi & Co, Kauppakatu 28, Lappeenranta, Finland. If you have any questions about this cookie policy or about how we process your data, please contact us at info@keksico.fi.
Which cookies and similar technologies do we use?
We keep this website simple: we do not use advertising, marketing or analytics cookies, and we do not track your browsing or build profiles of you. We only use storage that the website needs in order to function:
- Language preference — your choice between English and Finnish is saved in your browser's local storage, so the site opens in your chosen language on your next visit.
- Technical and security storage — our hosting platform may set strictly necessary cookies that are required for the website to function securely, for example load balancing and protection against misuse.
Overview of the storage we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| keksi-lang | Remembers whether you browse the site in English or Finnish | Functional (local storage) | Until you clear your browser data |
| Technical cookies of the hosting platform | Keep the website secure and available | Strictly necessary | Session or short-term |
Embedded content from other services
Some pages of our website embed a map from OpenStreetMap. When the map loads, the service receives information such as your IP address. We do not embed social media feeds or videos that set marketing cookies.
Our forms do not use marketing cookies. When you submit a form, the information you provide is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
Do we need your consent?
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and Finnish law (the Information Society Code and the Personal Data Act), strictly necessary cookies may be used without your consent, because the website cannot function properly without them.
Because we currently use no cookies or similar technologies that require consent, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If we later add, for example, analytics or marketing cookies, we will always ask for your consent first, and you will be able to accept or reject each category separately.
How can you manage or delete cookies?
You can delete or block cookies and clear your browser's local storage at any time in your browser's settings — every browser has its own instructions, usually under "Privacy" or "Security". If you block strictly necessary storage, parts of the website may not work correctly.
If you clear your browser data, your language choice is reset and the website will open in English again.
Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679), you have the right to access your personal data, have incorrect data corrected, have data erased, restrict or object to processing, and have data transferred to another controller. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@keksico.fi.
If you believe your rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, the Finnish supervisory authority (www.tietosuoja.fi).
Changes to this cookie policy
We may update this cookie policy if our use of cookies changes or legislation requires it. The date at the top of this page always shows when the policy was last updated.
For more information on how we process personal data — including what you submit through our forms — please see our Privacy Policy.
